Day-by-Day Itinerary Plan
Arrive in Colombo and head southeast toward the fertile plains of Udawalawe. Settle into your boutique safari camp nestled along the border of the national park.
Dawn game drive across Udawalawe National Park. Spot herds of wild Asian elephants grazing near the reservoir, water buffaloes, and crested hawk-eagles. Visit the Elephant Transit Home to watch rehabilitated orphaned calves during feeding hour.
Drive to Yala National Park, the premier sanctuary for the elusive Sri Lankan Leopard (Panthera pardus kotiya). Embark on a late afternoon safari through Block 1.
Spend the morning tracking big cats, spotted deer herds, and saltwater crocodiles near waterholes. Enjoy a picnic lunch deep in the wilderness before resuming your afternoon game drive.
Journey westward along the scenic southern coastline to Mirissa. Unwind on golden sandy beaches and take golden hour photographs at the iconic Coconut Tree Hill promontory.
Set sail at dawn aboard a modern catamaran into the Indian Ocean. Mirissa is one of the world's best places to spot majestic Blue Whales, Sperm Whales, and acrobatic Spinner Dolphins.
Discover the tranquil turquoise waters of Mirissa's Secret Beach. In the afternoon, stop at Koggala to observe traditional Sri Lankan stilt fishermen balancing precariously above crashing waves.
Travel to Galle and step into 400 years of colonial history. Walk atop massive 17th-century coral ramparts, visit the iconic lighthouse, and stroll through cobblestone streets filled with art galleries, gem merchants, and artisan cafes.
Cruise through dense mangrove forests on the Madu River, observing cinnamon peelers on isolated islands and fish spa therapy. Afternoon at leisure on Bentota beach.
Enjoy breakfast overlooking the ocean before boarding the Southern Expressway directly to Bandaranaike International Airport for your flight home.
